PJ O'Sullivan

PJ O’Sullivan is the President of The Delahunt Group with a focus on development, state and local government relations, the advancement and implementation of grassroots coalitions and public strategies.

With twenty-five years of experience interacting with various government sectors, O’Sullivan forged a long career in state and federal government, including time as District Director for both Congressman Gerry Studds and Congressman Bill Delahunt, as senior staff at the Massachusetts Department of Employment and Training and as Massachusetts Seasonal Employment Director under Governor Michael Dukakis.  Through these roles O’Sullivan built strong relationships with government leaders, community groups, labor leaders and media representatives across Massachusetts.

Additionally, O’Sullivan has worked and consulted for dozens of political campaigns from the Presidential level down to local municipal races.  In 1988, O’Sullivan served as a deputy state field director for the presidential campaign of Governor Michael Dukakis and in 1992 he served as operations manager for the New Hampshire Primary campaign of Bill Clinton. In 1996, O’Sullivan was Campaign Manager for Congressman Bill Delahunt’s successful first run for Congress and in 2004, he served as the Election Day Director for the state of Maine for the John Kerry for President campaign.  O’Sullivan also served as an Election Day Coordinator in New Hampshire for President Barak Obama in 2008.

After leaving public service in 1998, O’Sullivan founded O’Sullivan & Associates, a public affairs firm specializing in government relations, community relations, public strategies and market research, which he operated until merging with The Delahunt Group in 2011.  At O’Sullivan and Associates, PJ serviced a range of clients that included Fortune 500 companies such as; AT&T, Comcast, Coca-Cola, to non-profit groups such as Mass Energy and the Friends of the Cape Cod Landbank to name just a few.

In 2010, the national publication Campaign & Elections’ Magazine recognized O’Sullivan on their list of top “influencers” in Massachusetts.

O’Sullivan, a graduate of Milton Academy, earned a B.A. in Government from Connecticut College and has studied graduate level Survey and Market Research at the Sawyer School of Management at Suffolk University.
